September is National Preparedness Month, and this is part of our “Being Prepared” series.
The idea of being prepared immediately turns people away. You get labeled as one of thosewacko preppers who eats grass and lives in the trees. Okay, it might not be that bad, but you will get funny looks. And that’s okay, because if something was to ever happen, you’ll be the first one they come to.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a natural disaster or a political disaster, you’re going to want to be prepared. Just think about the types of issues that could come up in your community. Could your community take to the streets and riot like we saw in Ferguson, MO? What if members of the Islamic State come to your town? Would you know what to do or where to go?
