For the first time in my life after an election, I feel as if my country has been taken from the people. What is happening in Washington is making me feel helpless and hopeless. How can everything have gotten so out of control that we have people in power who want to desecrate our Constitution and the rights of the people to govern? Read verse 12:17 – recompensing evil for evil would be ‘not’ speaking God’s Word – for God’s Word is Ultimately the opposite of evil. And tgo provide things honest in the sight of all men would also be ultimately God’s Word.
So if you ultimately give out God’s Word to others and they accept it – then yes ‘both’ wil live peaceably with each other, but if they don’t, then there is no peace for the wicked saith The Lord.

Sunday is anything but a day of rest for me, but it certainly is a labor of love. I just came home from a day of ministry, where I have the weekly, unbridled privilege of preaching the Gospel. I thank the Lord for the open door to do so, as I urge all who will trust the Lord Jesus to receive Him as Savior. I try to be sensitive to those who are not inclined to do so, realizing that I can do more damage than good by speaking in a way that alienates the ones I am trying to reach. Connie, I have no difficulty understanding why you refuse to give any ground to those who do not carry the banner of Jesus Christ boldly, acknowledging Him as Lord and Savior, bringing Him to the forefront of every conversation, and marginalizing every other issue as unimportant. In the light of eternity that makes perfect sense. We differ somewhat on approach in this respect, sister. While we should not yield any ground that compromises the Gospel, I don’t want to alienate those who are not able to receive the blunt force of the Gospel at this time. There ARE commmon points of interest that I believe you and I have with those who do not share our view of the necessity to receive Christ. We both enjoy the liberty of expressing ourselves in this way without the gestapo-like hammer knocking down our door with their “fairness doctrine” mandate. We can appeal to a large base of people who think it is immoral to kill innocent babies who should have been protected in the process of birth. God HATES the shedding of innocent blood. California surprised the nation when they voted to identify marriage as a union between a man and a woman. Thank the Lord! Glenn Beck is catching a lot of heat for even daring to cite that a belief in God and the centrality of God in our life are principles essential to our success as a nation. I want to support him on that point and have a voice in this forum regarding our national welfare, safeguarding the liberties that our forefathers cemented in place that allow me to impact our world for good. I am mindful of our Savior’s sensitivity when He said, “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now” (John 16:12). I know by telling you these things that I certainly risk alienating you and incurring your displeasure and reproof, but I do believe that I am speaking the truth in love. In humility I only ask that you “consider what I say; and the Lord give you understanding in all things” (2 Timothy 2:7). God bless you.

Is this not the problem that our country has been faced with? The shutting down of critical thought and public discourse? Shame should fall to you, as you have tried to shut the voice of reason. The fruit of this country is Freedom, and one of those freedoms is free speech. Another, free thought. We have been quited for years – and not just one group of people, but all different directions – and now that everyone is “allowed” to speak up, we must be quiet? No. That is what got us to where we are now. Now, more than ever, we MUST speak up! We must use our freedoms fully, and speak against those who try to quiet them. We are endowed by a Creator, the very freedoms that America represents.

Dear all,
I have tried to stimulate a dialogue along many avenues here, but it seems that only an insider group talking about their specific faith base dominates. They see no solutions to be found unless everyone embraces that specific faith, and so leave no quarter but that. Though I see their point, that the lack of morality is the problem, they can’t concede that there are many avenues to the same source of Truth, and that we can coexist. In my experience, little or nothing can be accomplished in this world when one spiritual ideal attempts to reign supreme over another. I am disappointed, but can see no end to this. I will continue to monitor for a time to see if some substance can be found, but my postings seem to fly to the four winds.
If and when the second coming arrives, it will find me trying to make the world a better place, not sitting on my fat laurels in judgment. Love and respect tempered with understanding is the key to our survival, not what I’m reading here.

People can decide for their selves whether they chose to believe it or not…please look up the following: “Zietgiest, the movie, final edition, revised”. Also “Project Rex 84, FEMA concentration camps”, and “Chemical trails making people sick” You will find and can watch videos on these on you tube.
Ken, you are absolutely correct. The hope for this thread was not to push one faith over another. But, to rather get a respectfull dialogue going. The problem I see is that TOO many people don’t understand – or either understand but still want to sell their’s – is that we are all endowed by a Divine Providence, and who you choose Him to be is your Right.

Dialogue is of the world system.
God’s way is as Christ Jesus – your preach and teach the gospel, you don’t dialogue it and especially with those who want to join all religions in the ‘dialogue’ when you do that you destroy men’s lives. We are not here to win friends and influence people – it is not about sensitivity-training. It is men’s of love their evil deeds which alienates them from Jesus Christ, it’s easy to turn that around as you did. Repent David Hall you have fallen into the trap of dialogue verses being a Witness and then knowing the God will increase the seed or not. If you want to destroy revelation – you get everyone into dialogue. And that is what this blog and David S. is all about – a facilitator in this new world order. Wake up David Hall, you are dialoguing with false prophets who want ~you to change~. Remember psalm 1 and forget it not. But warn and move on – (dust your feet).

I’m sure that the little girl who never made four down the street will have her suffering explained to her when she arrives in heaven. Do you think that Jesus will reunite her with her left leg they had to amputate? Perhaps in spirit only…
Will it be allowed to communicate with her in heaven? Will it then be okay to take away her pain, her fever, and was it okay in her delirium to ask for her mother? Was it okay to beg her mother to keep her alive? That is a fun memory. What little faith she had! Was it okay to put your arm around them both those last hours, to tell them meaningless nothings in strong word reflections that showed strength, to find the strength to die a noble death? Was it okay to hold her still dimpled hand, even when it turned cold? Should I have dusted my feet on her knowing she would be with Jesus and nothing I could do or say would help? Should I feel guilt when I felt something good deep inside as her crying and screaming finally stopped?
I look over what you have written and can find no connection to what I see relevant in this life. What we do has meaning, and those who try to make the world a better place has true salvation.
Jesus will have a special place for you in haven. I think it will resemble something like a cardboard box. I have seen a lot of pain around the world, but nothing is more painful but to have a person like you to say that connections are meaningless.
If you can’t make the world a better place, get out of the way for those who want to.

It is absurd to think that a United States president should be campaigning for the olympics when we have so many issues here at home to deal with. The fact is, Obama needs to realize that he is not God and won’t always get his way. I think its wonderful he failed in his appeals. He needs to focus on the issues at home not on making his last year in office a good one for Chicago. (Yes, he will be a one term president, he is our generation’s Jimmy Carter)
You are so correct. I agree with you whole-heartedly. With what we are faced with as a nation today, and what we have endured while Obama has been in office (however short it may be) the last thing he should be doing is pleading for the Olympics to be held in Chicago. This is something that should have been handed off to someone else to handle. Maybe he should have been sitting down with Military top brass to decide on a direction to follow in Afghanistan. (I hope to write more on this very soon.) My point is the same as your point – There are far greater things to be worried about as President than begging for the hosting title for the 2016 Games.
I don’t know what kind of health care reform will come out of this session, but I strongly suspect it won’t be much. There is, however a silver lining behind this very dark cloud. I am reminded of the Civil Rights Act of 1957. Don’t be embarrassed if you’ve never heard of it, there really isn’t a hell of a lot to remember about it; a mere pittance, really – a scrap of leftovers tossed out to “American Negros” (in the parlance of the age) in order to appease them. But it made the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 – the one we remember – all-the-more easier seven years later.
We’ll live to fight another day.

There is an old country saying that describes what Obams’s Nancy and gang are trying to sell us: “A pig in a poke.”
This idiom supposedly originated long ago when meat was a rare delicacy. Instead of buyers getting an unseen wiggling pig in an unopened bag… they were surprised to find a cat or rat after a purchase had been finalized.
Words in a bill that have never been read by most concerned citizens, and the consequences to society upon passage is a “risk” that only lovers of folly would engage in without guilt. Those who are likely to suffer will not be politicians. They take better care of themselves than the “servants” who are paying their salaries.
How true that is. My concern is that, while this bill is so large, there won’t be time for anyone to read it. I don’t know if “risk” is enough to explain it, and I agree with you that the politicians won’t suffer one bit, save it be their own jobs.
As a moderate republican, I believe in smaller government, but somehow the new republican party has forgotten what smaller is, or what is the role of government. A war on terror costing 100’s of billions of dollars, and takes away my privacy, in order to defeat terrorists who were armed with box cutters. A common sense lockable entry into the pilot’s compartment would have avoided this whole mess. Two wars of choice. One we never knew the real reason why it was launched. The other we will never know when we have succeeded in our mission. Senator Taft (1950) was right. The last “good war” was WWII, because we knew what we were fighting for, and everybody shared in the sacrifice. As the tragedy at Fort Hood proved, what are we doing to those brave men and women who sacrifice their all for us? They go back to a war zone two, three, four times, and have a increasingly high rate of mental illness. When will their mission be accomplished? If there was a Draft would we be fighting these wars?
The mixing of church and state, going into my bedroom, and telling my wife what she can and can’t do with her body. Even I can’t do that and Thomas Jefferson would never approve of this. America was founded because we have a right to privacy and the right to be secure in our own homes. While I do not have the responsibility to pay for private elective medical procedures that I consider immoral, I do not have the right to interfere with the private choices of others, which do not involve the government.
Huge multi-national corporations have the rights of an individual, and effect my life more than the government ever has. Yet they are too big to fail, and I pay to bail them out. Small retailers can not compete with Wal-mart, who is so big they get special deals from Chinese companies which are unavailable to others. Wall Street enriches itself with actions that destroys peoples lives and the economy. Yet, my party tells me they can not be regulated and controlled by the only institution which can match them in size, wealth, and power. The only proper role of Government is to do what we as individuals can not do for ourselves. We do not live in a capitalist society, we live in a corporate society, with the rich getting richer, the poor struggling to survive, and the middle class disappearing as they join the ranks of the poor. The former abuses of government are are greatly overshadowed, by these corporations which have no loyalty to any country, or people.
My heart and prayers go out to all the victims family and friends.
From all the news reports it appears this Major is a career military man and that in his current position for less than a year and was not going well. He did not want to be deployed and in fact wanted out of the Army, so he paid back his military student loans and hired an attorney.
The reason may have been that he was being harassed and called names like “camel jockey ”. I guess all that sensitivity training for those with bigotry tendencies are all for not. (Can training real change the way you were brought up?)
Another reason is called PTSD by proxy, the stress of treating PTSD in other soldiers make you go a little crazy yourself. Its even more stressful because most of the higher ranks don’t even believe in such thing as PTSD. Their denial prompts them to tell suffering soldiers to “drink it off.” Some civilians in the defense dept feel the same way no doubt IMO, it’s why hardly anything is mentioned of PTSD until one of these violent episodes occurs. These people see PTSD as a cop-out or an excuse. First we need to have an understanding that PTSD actually is real before we can ever hope to help treat it (does anyone believe that being shot at or killing your fellow man is not going to affect you in some way either then or in the future?). I guess with the high soldier suicide rate before and after deployment kinda takes care of the complaints from coming in (so those who said he should have just killed himself, well that’s already happening ). What real ticked me off when I heard that the military was trying to say that some soldiers coming back from this war with PTSD or other psychological disorders had “Pre-Existing Conditions” and that the military would not pay to treat them, I think it has been corrected but what a bunch of asses they break you and don’t want to pay.
The final issue is why does the military want to keep people in their ranks that no longer want to be there is it just sheer number? I mean is it ten percent, twenty percent. Is it that it is the only contract in the US that you can’t get out of unless to kill yourself or kill your fellow soldiers? It does not make any sense to me.
I guess the Major could just be another wacko like Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nicholas, of course McVeigh was executed and apparently because Nicholas became a Christian he received a life sentenced. I real think if he gets that far the Major will get the former and not in a million years the latter.
This is so messed up, hopefully they will make some changes that make sense.
I really hope that President Obama focuses more on convincing Congress to provide necessary resources to purchase the bullet proof vests our soldiers must have to survive

Very interesting phenomena going on. This is a hard stance for Christian groups as diverse in background as these to be taking and quite frankly surprising. I mean this in a good way though.
How right you are. It is rather interesting that such a diverse group was able to take such a strong stance in the midst of these days. I only wish this was done a year or so ago. I think things would be dramatically different.

Yes you are right with your basic supposition of failure but dead wrong with your reasoning. Afhganistan is a failure under Bush for the reason that you give, minimalistic approach too troop levels. Do you remember the firing of General Shenseki for disagreeing on Bush and Rumsfelds ideas of troop levels? They blew it and our initial advantage was destroyed long ago. No conquer has ever taken Afghanistan.
You twist the words of President Eisenhower who prophetically was correct. He was in a position to know what he was talking about. Eisenhower was talking about the misplaced power in the unelected military industrial complex which is today corrupting our elected officials with lobbying money.
This country is bankrupt, when are the war mongers going to realize the Empire is in it’s death throws?

Second, I greatly agree with you about how Bush mismanaged Afghanistan. Trust me when I say this, I don’t think going into Afghanistan was a wise thing to do. Unlike the administrations have done, and how you nailed it when you said that “no conquer has ever taken Afghanistan,” people tend to forget that one of the best weapons in war is history. The problem with what Obama is doing, is that it is the same as what Bush did.
Third, I can see the point you are making with the Eisenhower quote. However, as much as money does tend to talk, lobby members are not the one’s making the decisions, but rather they are trying to influence it their way. The elected officials are the ones who ultimately make the decisions.
A failing leader, not only fails himself, but also those who are following.

They were not the only window company listed actually.
About $100M was allocated for potential tax credits for glass and window manufacturers of which 7 were listed. All of them are listed on the Serious Materials blog and in the fed award document that is published.
Serious qualified for 0.5% of that, if they spend $1.5M on equipment and create jobs in the next 4 years. The other window and glass companies qualified for 99.5% of it.
Doesn’t sound like much cronyism here.
Sounds like for all the good Serious has done, they got the short end of the stick.
Moreover, in the IRS review it shows an independent group was hired, not affiliated with DOE or IRS to choose the 183 companies included. DOE had no involvement.
The company posted a blog with the facts that Stossel refused to air, like Zoi did not even work for the DOE when the VP toured one of their plants (and he has toured 57 plants in the US in the past year):
