Carly Fiorina on Hillary Clinton’s ‘Track Record’

May 27, 2015 by Daniel

Carly Fiorina, Republican presidential candidate went on the attack against Hillary Clinton on “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on MSNBC.

She begins the interview saying:

“I come from a world where titles are just titles, and talk is just talk. It’s only in politics where titles and words mean a lot. In the rest of the world, it’s actually about what have you done, actions speak louder than words. People want to know are your words and your actions consistent and are they consistent over time. And so, I think when 82% of the American people now believe that there is a professional political class more interested in preserving its own power and privilege than it is in serving the American people, people expect basic questions to be asked of anyone running for president. ‘What have you done, are you trustworthy, are you transparent, will you answer questions?'”

When asked about Hillary’s ‘track record’ she replied:

“[As] Secretary of State she took women’s rights and human rights off the table for discussion with China. It’s also true as Secretary of State that she called Bashar al-Assad a positive reformer. It’s also true that in 2011, when she was Secretary of State, she said that Iraq was a free, stable, sovereign nation. And now we have a nation falling apart, Iranian influence growing, ISIS growing. It’s true that she said that she could reset our Russia — our relationship with Russia and Vladimir Putin is on the march. So, I think all of those things I just named go fundamentally to what is her track record.”

Host Andrea Mitchell asked Fiorina about her ISIS strategy, replying:

“I would do very specific things. First, instead of having a Camp David conference to talk our Arab allies into a bad deal with Iran, I would have had a Camp David conference to talk with our Arab allies about how we can support them to fight ISIS. Let me give you very specific examples. The Kurds have been asking us to arm them for three years, we still have not. The Jordanians have been asking us to provide them with bombs and material. We know King Abdullah of Jordan, I’ve known him for many years. He took the appropriate leadership steps when a Jordanian pilot was burned alive. He was here in this country asking us for bombs and materiel, we haven’t provided him with any of them. He’s now looking to China for that. The Egyptian president, a very brave and pious Muslim, who has said there is a cancer in the heart of Islam, has asked us to share intelligence. We are not. The Turks have asked us to help them topple Bashar al-Assad, we are not. There are a whole set of things that we’ve been asked to do by our allies who know this is their fight, and we’re not doing any of them.”

Putting Americans Back to Work: Republican Weekly Address

August 31, 2013 by Daniel

Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R-PA) talked this week about putting Americans back to work and the struggles of small business owners and the red tape they run into from Washington.

The policies from this administration continue to stifle job growth and creation thanks to all the roadblocks they face.

One of those being the UnAffordable Health Care Act. Obamacare continues to face new problems as each day passes.

Another thing that Obama and his administration continue to halt progress on is the Keystone XL Pipeline. Many new jobs would be available with the passing of this project. Many American workers would greatly benefit from the Keystone Pipeline.

Republicans continue to put forward ideas that would spur American business growth, stimulate the economy and put Americans back to work.

Republicans Must Use This Chance to Expose Liberal Influence and Bias in the Media

Reince Priebus on March 18, 2013.

The liberal media is on notice: If you’re in the business of spending millions to promote Hillary Clinton, you will not take part in Republicans’ primary debates in the 2016 presidential election.

On Monday, I sent letters to NBC and CNN informing them that the RNC will not sanction any primary debates they sponsor if they do not cancel their plans to promote Hillary Clinton.

NBC is planning a miniseries, CNN a documentary. If they don’t cancel these poorly disguised political ads by August 14, they can plan on watching Republican debates on networks other than their own.

It’s bad enough that liberal reporters have deposed Republican candidates at debates in the past and tried to make news at the expense of our party; it’s even worse, appalling really, that their networks would go to such lengths to coronate Hillary Clinton. Their brazenness has gone to a new level.

Republicans across the country are speaking out. The networks’ actions are so outrageous that even some prominent liberals agree with the RNC. But we have to keep the pressure up if we’re going to expose the media for who and what they are. I encourage you to sign the RNC’s petition here.

I called out NBC and CNN because I refuse to let biased networks turn the 2016 debates into the same traveling circus they caused the 2012 debates to be. This is just one step toward creating a better, fairer debate system. But this is also an opportunity for us to begin to do something even bigger.

For years—decades really—Republicans have tried to expose the bias in the media to the public at large. We’ve had some successes, but most of the liberal media continue to claim they’re just neutral observers. Well, neutral observers don’t actively promote the Democrats’ leading candidate for president. So by keeping the spotlight on NBC and CNN, we can alert more Americans to the liberal influence at these—and other—networks, and we’ll begin to ensure better debates in the process.

RedState Gathering Brings Out New Crop of GOP Challengers

August 8, 2013 by Daniel

The RedState Gathering has been meeting annually for five years now. In that time, the RSG has made a name for itself by making a name for others- spotlighting up-and-comers in the conservative movement who have made their mark in the Republican Party and challenged the mediocre majority.

Rick Perry announced his intention to run for president at the RSG in 2011. Erick Erikson’s RSG vision helped Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio earn national recognition.

This year’s gathering, held last week in New Orleans, served as a launching point for a number of candidates seeking to make their way into the GOP establishment. Below is a list of names-to-know and what to expect in the way of a Republican shake-up in 2014 and beyond: [Read more…] about RedState Gathering Brings Out New Crop of GOP Challengers

The Problem With GOP Frontrunners: There’s No Lincoln

May 16, 2011 by Daniel

RCP (Washington Post) | Republicans are unhappy with their field of presidential candidates and yearn for someone who will come along to save them. But here’s what the GOP doesn’t want to confront: its problem lies not in its candidates, but in itself.

The candidates appear much smaller than they are because the party’s primary voters and core interest groups insist upon cutting them down to size. To win a Republican nomination, a candidate has to move right, recant absolutely any past position that violates the current consevative catechism, and never dare to speak the truth that solving our deficit problem will require new revenues — aka, taxes.

Michael Steele Out, Reince Priebus In

January 14, 2011 by Daniel

Reince Priebus is the newly elected lead of the Republican National Committee, and Michael Steele is out.

via CBSNews:

New RNC Chairman Reince Priebus today acknowledged as much after his fellow committee members chose him to put him at the helm of the organization.

“We recognize that the Democrats have taken this country on the wrong path, and it isn’t going to be easy or glamorous, but together we must lead,” he said.

Priebus, a 38-year-old lawyer who served as chairman of the Wisconsin GOP, said he plans to keep his head down and get to work. That means restructuring the RNC’s financial operation, hiring a top-notch staff, improving the lines of communication with state parties and — perhaps most importantly — restoring the faith of the party’s donors.

“Together we can defeat Barack Obama in 2012, together, unified as a committee,” Priebus said.
