Oh Great, Another Manifesto?

January 23, 2016 by Daniel

Stop Think Act

Enough already! It’s time to quit acting like children, and start acting like grown adults.

Seems like anymore you scroll through social media it’s a bash session on a candidate.

It even got to the point where some of the ‘top’ voices for the conservative cause issued a manifesto. Oh, are some of these voices royalty now? Seriously, enough already.

This is not who some of us are. And, it certainly is not who we want to represent us. Yes, both in the media and those looking to get elected to office.

Here’s the thing. Politics is a cut-throat business. Plain as that.

But, it’s a little more complex than that.

You see, there are some of us out there that recognize the power of our voice.

Even better, there are some of us out there who are not afraid to pause and really look at all the facts surrounding an issue. And, these facts, are more than just what is happening right here right now.

To really know, you have to know history AND be able to objectively look at the consequences of each move and decision.

It’s fantastic that you and your ‘friends’ support one candidate over the next. You’ve got that right.

BUT… it becomes a problem when all of your ‘work’ begins damaging the bigger cause.

It’s what is at stake that really needs to be looked at, and if we are okay with the consequences of our actions should it not go our way.

Is one candidate better than the next? That depends on the issue.

The fact remains that each candidate has strengths to another’s weakness. So many people out there putting their candidate in a virtual cage match to prove who’s better. This does more harm than good.

There is NO one perfect candidate out there that meets or exceeds every issue for every person.

And to be truthfully honest, today, Ronald Reagan couldn’t even get elected.

That needs to quickly become a reality!

Because, right now, everyone on the left side of the field is laughing. They are sitting back watching each one of us bring one another down.

We are doing their bidding for them, and, sad to say, it will eventually give them the victory in 2016 if we aren’t careful.

Just image for a second. In 2008, Hillary Clinton was a shoe-in and was guaranteed victory. What happened? Obama. In 2012, Hillary Clinton was a shoe-in and virtually guaranteed a victory over 4 failed years of Obama policy. What happened? Obama.

On the flip side… in 2008, for republicans, we were guaranteed a win in a match against Hillary Clinton. What happened? We fought each other and wound up with someone nobody could agree on and we wound up losing to a nobody. Obama. In 2012, after 4 failed years of Obama, we were guaranteed a victory. What happened? We fought each other, once again, and decided on another candidate that nobody agreed on, eventually losing, AGAIN, to Obama.

Where are we now?

There are two schools of thought. We either pick the one who goes out there playing the populist card, or we pick someone who goes against the grain walking their talk.

What will wind up happening?

Well, because of all the infighting, we’ll end up with someone nobody can agree on, and lose to Bernie Sanders. True, Clinton is in the fight as well, but she’ll be the death of her campaign. Bernie Sanders is the real threat. And, in more ways than one!

What can we do?

Leave each other alone! Real damage is happening, not only to the country but to friendships as well.

Again, when you scroll through social media, it’s everyone for themselves. It’s the same in many forms of media right now.

If you want to support one candidate over the next, then fine, but explain how your candidate is better than Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton. DON’T spend your time bashing someone else within the party. It only adds fuel to the democrat’s fire.

All the destruction you are causing in supporting your candidate will be damaging to you and the party when one candidate is pit against a democrat.

The 80/20 of the Election

January 16, 2016 by Daniel

Getting elected to any office is all about strategy. You don’t just take the time to fill out some paperwork to put your name on the ballot, and bingo… you get elected.

That’s not how this works. That’s not how ANY of this works!

It’s all about strategy. And, there are many different ways to go about executing it.

To be honest, there are a lot of people out there who have forgotten what is really happening.

Two things are happening at the same time:

  1. Narrowing down all the republican hopefuls down to one
  2. Defeating democrats and taking back the White House in 2016

That’s the big picture. That’s the end goal here.

But, it’s important to remember the Reagan rule.

Understand that some candidates out there who claim to be conservative, may in fact not have been a conservative, or republican for that matter, when Reagan was around.

Now, about that Reagan rule… the 80/20 rule.

In the business world, the 80/20 rule is all about focusing on the 20% of things to achieve 80% of your results. But, in the political world – at least the way Reagan saw things – if you agree on 80% of the issues, you can set aside the 20% you disagree with.

Why bring this up?

One of the candidates out there is raising a lot of eyebrows because they have absolutely NO filter when it comes to speaking what’s on their mind. While another candidate takes the high road, focusing on actual issues Americans are affected by and even making a joke out of the attacks slung his way.

One of the candidates is focused on double-talk, while the other focuses on delivering their message.

One of these candidates talks up a huge game, while the other lets his walk do the talking.

The fact is this: one of these candidates you agree with on 80% or more on the issues but you instead focus on the candidate who plays the popularity card.

Playing on the emotions of the voters proves nothing. And, many people are starting to see through their blindfolds.

The real focus needs to be on the issues and what differs a candidate from the democrats.

That’s where the real 80/20 rule comes in. 80% of their efforts should be spent separating themselves from the democrat candidates, and the other 20% should be focused on other issues.

In His Own Words: Trump Admits New York Values Are Different

January 16, 2016 by Daniel

Donald Trump New York Values

In an interview from 1999, Donald Trump admitted his New York values are different than those in Iowa.

Donald Trump and his ‘New York values’ came under attack during the republican debate by Ted Cruz.

Cruz issued the statement that ‘not a lot of conservatives come out of Manhattan’ toward Trump. Mainly as a response to Trump’s accusation about Cruz that ‘not a lot of evangelicals come out of Cuba.’

In Trump fashion, he completely spun his response. Trump brought up 9/11, which isn’t even closely related to debate, saying that everyone was able to come together to clean up and rebuild.

In the video posted above from a 1999 interview on ‘Meet the Press,’ Donald Trump admits that his ‘New York values’ are different that those you might find in Iowa.

Which is it, Donald? You’re either for your values or not.

Trump and Cruz Spar Over Birther Issue

January 15, 2016 by Daniel

Trump and Cruz birther issue

The gloves came off between Trump and Cruz when the birther issue was brought up.

Trump has been hitting Cruz hard in recent days whether or not he’s a natural born citizen.

Cruz responded to the question saying:

“Back in September, my friend Donald said that he had had his lawyers look at this from every which way, and there was no issue there. There was nothing to this birther issue. Now, since September, the Constitution hasn’t changed, but the poll numbers have. And I recognize that Donald is dismayed that his poll numbers are falling in Iowa. But the facts and the law here are really quite clear. Under long-standing US law, the child of a US citizen born abroad is a natural-born citizen. If a soldier has a child abroad, that child is a natural-born citizen. That’s why Sen. John McCain, even though he was born in Panama, was eligible to run for president. If an American missionary has a child abroad, that child is a natural-born citizen. That’s why George Romney, Mitt’s dad, was eligible to run for president, even though he was born in Mexico. At end of the day, the legal issue is quite straightforward, but I would note that the birther theories, that Donald has been relying on, some of the more extreme ones insist, that you must not only be born on US soil, but have two parents born on US soil. Under that theory, not only would I be disqualified, Sen. Marco Rubio would be disqualified, Bobby Jindal would be disqualified, and interestingly enough, Donald J. Trump would be disqualified, because, Donald’s mother was born in Scotland.”

Trump replied:

“Here’s the problem. We’re running, We’re running. He does great. I win. I choose him as my vice-presidential candidate, and the Democrats sue, because we can’t take him along for the ride. I don’t like that, okay? the fact is — and if, for some reason he beats the rest of the field, he beats the rest of the field…I already know the democrats are going to be bringing a suit. you have a big lawsuit over your head while you’re running, and if you become the nominee, who the hell knows if you can even serve in office. So, you should go out, get a declaratory judgment. Let the courts decide.”

Cruz Hits Trump on New York Values

January 15, 2016 by Daniel

Cruz and Trump Debate New York Values

Ted Cruz targeted Donald Trump by calling out his ‘New York values.’

During the GOP debate hosted by Fox Business, Ted Cruz was asked to explain his comment about how Trump ’embodies New York values.’

Cruz responded by saying everyone knows New York City is ‘socially liberal, pro-abortion, and pro-gay marriage.’ Also adding Trump stated in an old interview with Tim Russert, where Donald said, “I’m from New York, that’s what we believe in New York.”

Cruz ended his comments by saying:

“Not a lot of conservatives come out of Manhattan.”

That statement seemed to be a response to earlier claims by Trump on Cruz that ‘not many evangelicals come out of Cuba.’

Trump responded:

“And just so — if I could, because he insulted a lot of people. I’ve had more calls on that statement that Ted made, that New York is a great place, it’s got great people, it’s got loving people, wonderful people. When the World Trade Center came down, I saw something that no place on earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than New York. You had two 110-story buildings come crashing down, I saw them come down, thousands of people killed, and the cleanup started the next day, and it was the most horrific cleanup, probably in the history of doing this, and in construction, I was down there. And I’ve never seen anything like it. And the people in New York fought, and fought, and fought, and we saw more death and even the smell of death, nobody understood it, and it was with us for months, the smell. the air. And we rebuilt downtown Manhattan, and everybody in the world watched, and everybody in the world loved New York, and loved New Yorkers, and I have to tell you, that was a very insulting statement that Ted made.”

The problem with Trump’s response is that Cruz wasn’t attacking New Yorkers; Trump spun his response to make it seem that way. Cruz’s claim had nothing to do with the response after 9/11. Trump brought that up in the hopes to tug and pull at the heart-strings.

The attack we witnessed, and the rebuilding since then, is exactly what we would have seen if it had happened anywhere in America. That’s who America is. We come together!

Carly Fiorina Smacks Hillary Clinton Hard in Opening Statements

January 14, 2016 by Daniel

Fiorina takes on Hillary Clinton

During opening remarks, republican hopeful Carly Fiorina took a solid jab at Hillary Clinton.

Fiorina said, “I’m not a political insider. I haven’t spent my lifetime running for office. The truth is, and I’ve been blessed by a lot of opportunities to do a lot of things in my life, and unlike another woman in this race, I actually love spending time with my husband.”

The statement got a great deal of applause from the crowd in attendance.

She also touched on crony capitalism by pointing the finger at both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

“Hillary Clinton sits inside government; rakes in millions, and now accessing favors. And, Donald Trump sits outside government and rakes in billions, buying people like Hillary Clinton,” added Fiorina.

Santorum Talks Rebuilding the American Family

January 14, 2016 by Daniel

Santorum on Rebuilding the American Family

During the first republican debate of 2016, Rick Santorum was questioned about the American family.

Santorum was asked: “From a policy perspective, should the government be doing anything to encourage family formation?”

“The biggest reason that we are seeing the hollowing out of the middle of America, is the breakdown of the American family,” responded Santorum.

Donald Trump on Bill Clinton’s Past: ‘It’s a Threat!’

January 10, 2016 by Daniel

Donald Trump on Bill Clinton's Past

Donald Trump referenced Bill Clinton’s past as a ‘threat’ in an interview with Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Donald Trump has recently increased the idea of bringing up Clinton’s past if Hillary continues to attack him as a sexist.

Trump said in the interview:

“I don’t want to say it’s a threat, but it’s a threat!”

“Of course. I can call it a nicer name. She was saying he has tendency towards being sexist. … And I said, wait a minute. She’s married to an abuser. A woman claimed rape and all sorts of things, horrible things.”

When Todd asked if he was concerned if it would open himself up to similar attacks with reference to his two divorces, Trump said no.

He also added that it was different because he was a private citizen.

Donald Trump Goes Full Birther on Ted Cruz

January 6, 2016 by Daniel

Donald Trump and Ted Cruz

Donald Trump has finally decided to play dirty politics and go all in on Ted Cruz and the birther argument.

Early on in his campaign, Trump was all about supporting Cruz and even tried to put a stop to the birther claims.

https://videos.files.wordpress.com/bOIEnRG6/when-trump-said-cruz-was-eligible_dvd.mp4

The Washington Post reports:

Donald Trump said in an interview that rival Ted Cruz’s Canadian birthplace was a “very precarious” issue that could make the senator from Texas vulnerable if he became the Republican presidential nominee.

“Republicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: ‘Do we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?’ That’d be a big problem,” Trump said when asked about the topic. “It’d be a very precarious one for Republicans because he’d be running and the courts may take a long time to make a decision. You don’t want to be running and have that kind of thing over your head.”

This is exactly how Trump plays his cards. When he feels like he’s losing, he tries to play dirty. There’s only one problem. Cruz has a sense of humor about things, and he responds in that same fashion.

Watch the Ted Cruz ‘Christmas Classics’ Parody

December 19, 2015 by Daniel

Cruz Christmas Classics

The Ted Cruz campaign has released a ‘Cruz Christmas Classics’ parody infomercial set to run during the broadcast of Saturday Night Live.

Campaign spokeswoman Catherine Frazier told the Independent Journal:

“In the spirit of the upcoming holiday, we are excited to bring a Cruz family Christmas into the homes of SNL viewers in Iowa. Ted is a long time fan of SNL, so the chance to film his own SNL-style commercial was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up!”

How can you not want to snuggle up and hear these new ‘classics’ this year like “How Obamacare Stole Christmas”, or “The Grinch Who Lost Her Emails”, or even “Frosty the Speaker of the House.”

These ‘Cruz Christmas Classics’ are sure to be a hit!
