The Trump Factor and Iran: Deal or No Deal [PODCAST]

July 14, 2015 by Daniel

Donald Trump continues to flip the script with the media, and they don’t quite know how to handle him. He’s got them so baffled, the leftists are now claiming conspiracy theories.

While John Horse-face Kerry is over in Iran trying to figure out the deal or no deal, they’re putting out apps where you launch missiles at Israel. But, about that deal, Iran wins either way.

Harper Lee’s new/old book “Go Set A Watchman” will hit the shelves in a few hours, but what’s the history of how this new/old novel came to be found?

Poor Miss Nevada was asked a really hard question at Miss USA about race relations. Was she completely stuck on stupid? You decide.

Obama Admin Knew About Benghazi and Gun Running [PODCAST]

May 19, 2015 by Daniel

[powerpress]

In this episode, I discuss what the Obama Administration knew about Benghazi and the gun running.

Obama Admin Knew About Benghazi and Gun Running [PODCAST]

Meat & Potatoes

Everything we’ve been saying since the events of Benghazi happened were finally confirmed thanks to the all the hard work by the team at Judicial Watch.

In documents and reports that they were able to obtain, it proves that the Obama administration knew of the pending attack on the Benghazi consulate 10 days in advance. They also confirm the gun running from Benghazi to Syria.

One report states:

“The attack was planned ten or more days prior on approximately 01 September 2012. The intention was to attack the consulate and to kill as many Americans as possible to seek revenge for U.S. killing of Aboyahiye ((ALALIBY)) in Pakistan and in memorial of the 11 September 2001 atacks on the World Trade Center buildings.”

A report from October 2012 says:

“Weapons from the former Libya military stockpiles were shipped from the port of Benghazi, Libya to the Port of Banias and the Port of Borj Islam, Syria. The weapons shipped during late-August 2012 were Sniper rifles, RPG’s, and 125 mm and 155mm howitzers missiles.

“During the immediate aftermath of, and following the uncertainty caused by, the downfall of the ((Qaddafi)) regime in October 2011 and up until early September of 2012, weapons from the former Libya military stockpiles located in Benghazi, Libya were shipped from the port of Benghazi, Libya to the ports of Banias and the Port of Borj Islam, Syria. The Syrian ports were chosen due to the small amount of cargo traffic transiting these two ports. The ships used to transport the weapons were medium-sized and able to hold 10 or less shipping containers of cargo.”

A Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) further stated:

“The weapons shipped from Syria during late-August 2012 were Sniper rifles, RPG’s and 125mm and 155mm howitzers missiles. The numbers for each weapon were estimated to be: 500 Sniper rifles, 100 RPG launchers with 300 total rounds, and approximately 400 howitzers missiles [200 ea – 125mm and 200ea – 155 mm.]”

What about the rise of radical Islamic groups such as the Islamic State? Certainly we had warning about them and their motives?

Another DIA report said:

“The deterioration of the situation has dire consequences on the Iraqi situation and are as follows:

“This creates the ideal atmosphere for AQI [al Qaeda Iraq] to return to its old pockets in Mosul and Ramadi, and will provide a renewed momentum under the presumption of unifying the jihad among Sunni Iraq and Syria, and the rest of the Sunnis in the Arab world against what it considers one enemy, the dissenters. ISI could also declare an Islamic state through its union with other terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria, which will create grave danger in regards to unifying Iraq and the protection of its territory.”

5 facts about BBQ

Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner, and for many, BBQ goes hand in hand. Here are 5 interesting facts about BBQ:

  1. They really don’t know where the word barbeque came from. It evolved from the Spanish word barbacoa, but where it actually originated, they don’t know.
  2. George Washington wrote about attending a barbecue back in 1769 in Virginia.
  3. The famed “smoke ring.” You know that faint reddish “smoke ring” around the perimeter of the meat? This is formed by a chemical reaction between myoglobin, an oxygen-carrying protein in the muscle tissue, and the carbon monoxide in the smoke.
  4. The largest BBQ competition in the country is in Kansas City at the American Royal World Championship. On average there are around 500 competitors.
  5. Oklahoma has the most BBQ joints per capita, where there are roughly 1 for every 5000 residents.

Who’s Guarding the Guards? [PODCAST]

May 5, 2015 by Daniel

[powerpress]

In this episode, I discuss the question that has been brought up by various political thinkers: Who’s guarding the guards?

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes

Meat & Potatoes

Back in 1756, Edmund Burke contemplated a question on political theory. The question that he was asking came from 1st or 2nd century Latin poetry. Since then, it has been a source of inspiration for Plato, Cicero and Socrates. (All of which were influential in the thinking of Burke.) What he said was:

I have defended Natural Religion against a Confederacy of Atheists and Divines. I now plead for Natural Society against Politicians, and for Natural Reason against all three. When the World is in a fitter Temper than it is at present to hear Truth, or when I shall be more indifferent about its Temper; my Thoughts may become more publick. In the mean time, let them repose in my own Bosom, and in the Bosoms of such Men as are fit to be initiated in the sober Mysteries of Truth and Reason. My Antagonists have already done as much as I could desire. Parties in Religion and Politics make sufficient Discoveries concerning each other, to give a sober Man a proper Caution against them all. The Monarchic, Aristocratical, and Popular Partizans have been jointly laying their Axes to the Root of all Government, and have in their Turns proved each other absurd and inconvenient. In vain you tell me that Artificial Government is good, but that I fall out only with the Abuse. The Thing! the Thing itself is the Abuse! Observe, my Lord, I pray you, that grand Error upon which all artificial legislative Power is founded. It was observed, that Men had ungovernable Passions, which made it necessary to guard against the Violence they might offer to each other. They appointed Governors over them for this Reason; but a worse and more perplexing Difficulty arises, how to be defended against the Governors? Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? (Which translates to “Who will guard the guards themselves?”) In vain they change from a single Person to a few. These few have the Passions of the one, and they unite to strengthen themselves, and to secure the Gratification of their lawless Passions at the Expence of the general Good.

Too many people out there think they have power that they really don’t have. Take for instance, a parent who sends their child to school with a lunch that doesn’t meet the lunch standards because there were Oreo cookies packed. Or a father who calls out their child from school to go on a family trip, only for the principle to decline the request and say that it would be recorded as unexcused. People are walking a fine line with how much power they have versus how much they don’t. Which, takes us back to the original question: Who’s guarding the guards?

Who Said That?

We all got bills to pay right? Well… so does Bill Clinton. At least that’s what he said.

To Legalize Marijuana or Not [PODCAST]

April 21, 2015 by Daniel

[powerpress]

In this episode, I discuss the legalization of marijuana.

pot-leaf

Meat & Potatoes

It’s just one simple question: Should we legalize marijuana? There is a high favorability toward passing legislation to do just that. After all, there are many medicinal uses already. And, there are many opportunities for medical advancements. Really, is it worse than alcohol or cigarettes? How many different chemicals are found in just one cigarette compared to all natural marijuana? How many people get behind the wheel of an automobile under the influence of alcohol resulting in the death of another? There are so many questions and concerns that must be hashed out. In my opinion: Pass it and Tax it!

A few weeks ago, it was found out that IS is operating roughly 8 miles from our southern border. Judicial Watch is now reporting that IS is working with Mexican drug cartels to enter into the US.

On This Day In History

  • 1861 – Robert E. Lee resigned from the US Army after 32 years. Upon leaving, he went to serve his home state of Virginia during the Civil War. On April 9, 1865 he surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House.
  • 1871 – The Ku Klux Act was passed by Congress as asked to by President Ulysses S. Grant in order to combat the growing racial threats in the Deep South by hate groups like the KKK.

Who Said That?

Last week, I brought to you how Gwyneth Paltrow announced she was going to take part in a food stamps challenge. Well, there’s been a change in plans. She couldn’t make it. She lasted only days before being spotted going into a posh LA restaurant.

This week, I bring to you LZ Granderson on ABC’s This Week, talking about how the 2016 GOP field is ‘intolerant.’

#HillaryClinton2016 – Nobody Wants You Around [PODCAST]

April 14, 2015 by Daniel

[powerpress]

In this episode, I discuss Hillary Clinton jumping into the race for the White House.

hillary clinton

Thomas Jefferson (1785) on ‘Elective Despotism’

“Mankind soon learn to make interested uses of every right and power which they possess, or may assume. The public money and public liberty, intended to have been deposited with three branches of magistracy, but found inadvertently to be in the hands of one only, will soon be discovered to be sources of wealth and dominion to those who hold them… They [the assembly] should look forward to a time, and that not a distant one, when a corruption in this, as in the country from which we derive our origin, will have seized the heads of government, and be spread by them through the body of the people; when they will purchase the voices of the people, and make them pay the price. Human nature is the same on every side of the Atlantic, and will be alike influenced by the same causes. The time to guard against corruption and tyranny, is before they shall have gotten hold of us. It is better to keep the wolf out of the fold, than to trust to drawing his teeth and talons after he shall have entered.”

Meat & Potatoes

She’s BACK! And, Hillary Clinton has officially thrown her name into the hat for 2016. It’s her time. She wants to be a champion. She wants to prove that she understands you and understands your struggles. After all, you’re the middle class and nobody knows the middle class better than a Clinton.

On This Day In History

1743 – Thomas Jefferson was born

1970 – Apollo 13 oxygen tank exploded

Who Said That?

Gwyneth Paltrow has accepted a challenge to live on ‘food stamps’ for a week. Supposedly this equates to $29. But, it doesn’t mean she has to live in poverty for a week. This is such a stupid challenge, and she is too stupid to insult for even playing. Have a look at what she tweeted about the challenge:

They’re All Gonna Laugh At You [PODCAST]

April 7, 2015 by Daniel

[powerpress]

In this episode, I discuss the framework of the Iran deal that isn’t really a deal at all.

Meat & Potatoes

I want to share some really awesome news with you. I’ve been married for 18 years and I just want to share with you how much I love my wife and what she means to me.

So we didn’t meet the deadline with Iran, but we were able to make a deal. Or not. What? We either made a deal or we didn’t. Well, what was it exactly? That my friends, depends on who you ask. Turn the TV on in Iran and you’ll see people dancing in the streets. Here in the US? Obama and his administration in Washington are cheering that they were able to negotiate a deal with Iran so they won’t get nuclear weapons. And in other places of the world? Yeah, they’re laughing at us. It is a tangled web that’s been woven.

If you are tired of all the race talk, trust me, you’re not the only one. Well, what if I told you that at one Army diversity training class had a slide about ‘White Privilege’?

Who Said That?

It always amazes me how some people out there prove that you can be too stupid to insult. This week is no different as Amy Walter says that gay marriage wouldn’t be an issue if we just got rid of everyone over 50 years old. We should just move them out of the country or something. What!?! This was because of the religious freedom thing Indiana passed which eventually caused a pizzeria to have to shut its doors.

Connect the Dots [PODCAST]

March 31, 2015 by Daniel

In this episode, I discuss the increasing tensions in the Middle East and U.S. involvement.

extreme connect the dots

Meat & Potatoes

The Middle East continues to unravel at the seams. And, thanks to the failures of Obama and his foreign policy, nobody knows who’s on who’s side. One one hand we are working with Iran, and on the other we are fighting against them. It doesn’t end there though. When you take a look at the geographic region, you get a sense as to why Iran is in Yemen trying to topple the regime. To get an idea of how complicated things are, have a look at this chart Fox News put together.

RE: Clinton – URGENT You’ve Got Mail [PODCAST]

March 13, 2015 by Daniel

[powerpress]

In this episode, I discuss the Hillary Clinton email server saga.

Meat & Potatoes

George Washington said in his farewell address:

“It is important, likewise, that the habits of thinking in a free Country should inspire caution in those entrusted with its administration, to confine themselves within their respective Constitutional spheres; avoiding in the exercise of the Powers of one department to encroach upon another. The spirit of encroachment tends to consolidate the powers of all the departments in one, and thus to create whatever the form of government, a real despotism. A just estimate of that love of power, and proneness to abuse it, which predominates in the human heart is sufficient to satisfy us of the truth of this position.”

Why Hillary Clinton decided that she’s above the law and built her own personal email server is beyond me. Besides the fact that the IT guy who’s supposed to set up their emails failed miserably, how is it in all the time Clinton was Secretary of State did not one person call her out for her email address? More importantly is to what extent were classified documents put at risk because her personal email server was not encrypted properly. Bottom line, what was she thinking? Then again, let’s all remember who we’re dealing with: a Clinton!

There’s another story that’s really got me pretty upset. You may have seen the picture of the Navy veteran holding the flag with their beautiful little baby in it. Well, the photographer happened to be a veteran herself. She posted the picture to her FB page and the attacks rolled in. People were upset that she would do that to the flag. Personally, I find the picture very patriotic and symbolic of all the freedoms and liberties that child will get to partake of because of the things that flag stands for.

Who Said That?

Guess what? Ferguson, MO brings out the stupid in people! Two cops were pretty much ambushed at a demonstration and wound up getting hit with gunfire. Thankfully, they survived. Yet, people like Eric Holder, who’ve spent the last 9 months stoking the fire came out and said that this was done by a ‘punk’ and that this harms the healing progress. Excuse me! You’ll just have to hear it for yourself.

A Modern Day Game of Thrones [PODCAST]

March 6, 2015 by Daniel

[powerpress]

In this episode, I discuss the power struggle in the Middle East and how it’s like a modern day Game of Thrones.

chess-on-a-gloabal-scale

Meat & Potatoes

Have you ever played chess? I have and I just don’t get it. It’s like trying to jump into the middle of the season of Game of Thrones and trying to figure out the beginning and the end without really understanding what the heck is going on. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Game of Thrones series. But, in order to figure out the next move on the chessboard we’ve got to try and look at a few things.

In 1789, Richard Price said:

“Another expression of our love to our country is defending it against enemies. These enemies are of two sorts, internal and external; or domestic and foreign. The former are the most dangerous, and they have generally been the most successful. I have just observed, that there is a submission due to the executive officers of government, which is our duty; but you must not forget what I have also observed, that it must not be a blind and slavish submission. Men in power (unless better disposed than is common) are always endeavouring to extend their power. They hate the doctrine, that it is a trust derived from the people, and not a right vested in themselves. For this reason, the tendency of every government is to despotism; and in this the best constituted governments must end, if the people are not vigilant, ready to take alarms, and determined to resist abuses as soon as they begin. This vigilance, therefore, it is our duty to maintain. Whenever it is withdrawn, and a people cease to reason about their rights and to be awake to encroachments, they are in danger of being enslaved, and their servants will soon become their masters.”

How does all this fit into a modern day game of thrones? Well, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a joint session of Congress and touched on something I don’t think I have heard anyone else say. He made reference to the power struggle in the Middle East between Iran and the Islamic State. To better illustrate his point, I laid out the pieces to a game of chess to more fully understand how complicated this is.

Lost & Found

Billionaire Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has a love for history. He’s admitted that he’s been infatuated with WWII since he was a kid. So, for the last few years he’s been out trying to find an old sunken Japanese war ship called Musashi. At the time it was considered an engineering marvel due to all the technology they put into it. Well, even with all the technology and armor plating, it couldn’t withstand an estimated 19 torpedoes and 17 bombs that it took to sink it on October 24, 1944.

Who Said That?

One word: Farrakhan. That name gets my blood boiling for some reason. Probably because he is out there spewing hate and vile like this. You’ll just have to have a listen for yourself, because I’ve already given this guy more attention than he deserves.

The Rest of the Story [PODCAST]

February 27, 2015 by Daniel

[powerpress]

In this episode, I discuss the rest of the story.

first barbery war

Meat & Potatoes

So, seems everyone is out there telling you little stories about this or about that. Nevermind the details, because they’ve got really good stories. Stories that have stood the test of time. Okay… so maybe I’m embellishing a little. Or a lot. Whatever. Just know this, they can’t say anything that isn’t true right? I mean, it could end up on the interwebs or something. And we all know everything on the interwebs is true! Now, let’s get the rest of the story.

Obama says that Islam is woven into the fabric of America. And, while yes we do have a history involving Islam, he is entirely wrong on his message. In the Marines’ Hymn, there is a line that says ‘to the shores of Tripoli.’ That line is about the first naval fight, and victory, by way of the newly formed Navy. Who were we fighting? Muslims. It’s referred to as the Barbary wars. So, sorry there Obama, but you are not right again.

Also, while on the topic of messaging, CPAC2015 is in full effect. Everyone there is trying to figure out their message and what the people like and want in a presidential candidate. Because, after all, King Obama has threatened almost every Liberty we hold dear. From Obamacare to ObamaNet to banning certain rounds of ammunition, we have pretty much lost America. It’s time to take it back.

As you know, I like to look to history to see what is really happening before our very eyes. And, it’s almost as if James Madison traveled into the future when he said:

“Will it be sufficient to mark, with precision, the boundaries of these departments, in the constitution of the government, and to trust to these parchment barriers against the encroaching spirit of power? This is the security which appears to have been principally relied on by the compilers of most of the American constitutions. But experience assures us, that the efficacy of the provision has been greatly overrated; and that some more adequate defence is indispensably necessary for the more feeble, against the more powerful members of the government. The legislative department is every where extending the sphere of its activity, and drawing all power into its impetuous vortex.”

To put that into context just take a second to look at Washington and how much power and control they have. A little scary huh?

Who Said That?

As usual, people too stupid to insult just can’t keep their mouths shut. Why? I don’t know. But, you would think that if you were hand picked to be the new VA Secretary, you would be an honorable person who wanted to fix the broken VA system and restore faith to veterans that they won’t continue to be lied to and taken advantage of. Right? Wrong! Just have a listen and see what he said.
