Victory in South Carolina Primary for Newt Gingrich

January 21, 2012 by Daniel

The numbers are in and Newt Gingrich takes the victory seat in the South Carolina primary.

After two debates in South Carolina, Newt’s performance propelled himself to victory. Challenging his opponents, Gingrich became the favorite in the polls shortly after the first and virtually sealing the deal after the second.

South Carolina Primary Results:

  • Newt Gingrich – 40%
  • Mitt Romney – 27%
  • Rick Santorum – 17%
  • Ron Paul – 13%

A short lesson in history: Every republican who won in South Carolina has gone on to be the Republican nominee.
