Huntsman to call it quits, Endorses Romney

January 16, 2012 by Daniel

John Huntsman is expected to call it quits and endorse Mitt Romney.

Lacking the support to get his campaign moving, Huntsman recognizes that he should call it quits. He is also reported as saying that he wants to endorse the candidate that has the best chance at beating Obama. That person is Mitt Romney.

Also, Rick Perry is reported to make an announcement come Saturday on continuing his efforts. Reports say that if he fails to come in first or second in South Carolina, he will be pulling out of the race. If reports are true, it is still unsure who would get a bump from his supporters and who would get his endorsement.

Pre-debate South Carlina poll numbers:

Insider Advantage: Romney 32, Gingrich 21, Paul 14, Santorum 13, Perry 5, Huntsman 6
