American Exceptionalism is NOT Dead

November 14, 2012 by Daniel

States petitioning to secede from the Union? What is wrong here people? That’s not the way to be!

Look, it’s easy to get wrapped up in emotions and want to express your frustrations. But that’s exactly what they want you to do. They want you to feel like what just happened was the last best hope for America.

When Thomas Paine said “These are the times that try men’s souls,” he wasn’t joking. These truly are times that are trying many. But, do not for one second think that American exceptionalism is dead or dying.

America is VERY much alive.

Agreed that we have made some dumb decisions recently, and in the past, but that doesn’t mean that we should petition to secede from the Union. That’s not what makes this nation great.

In times past, when America has had choices to make, we always come out on top. Spin that how you may, but it is true.

World War II? We got attacked and roared back. We ran to the problem and put an end to it. Did it hurt? You bet. But in the end, America prevailed.

What about 9-11? We again were attacked, but roared back. We ran to the problem and are still trying to put an end to it. Will we prevail? No doubt that we will. Our forces are the greatest in the world, and they are not afraid to show it.

Now, think back to a time when, much like today, America was divided. The Civil War. At no other time in history has America stood on the brink of collapse. A nation divided but brought back together. Abraham Lincoln stitched this great nation back when he spoke the words of the Gettysburg Address. Those few lines healed the wounds of America.

Today is no different. One half of America wants to create an illusion that America is dead. The other half right now wants to turn its back on everything? That is absolutely insane!

America will prevail. Just as it has every other time she has faced times of trouble.

Do not feel discouraged. Now is the time to feel empowered! Now is the time to unite. Now is NOT the time to give them the satisfaction that they want. Now is the time to stand in Unity and fight back. Now is the time we must expose them for what they are.

Again, now is NOT the time to feel discouraged. It is a time to feel empowered, encouraged and energized!
