Ted Cruz on ‘Partisan’ Mainstream Media

January 24, 2016 by Daniel

Ted Cruz on partisan mainstream media

Ted Cruz sat down with Howard Kurtz for an interview on Fox News slamming ‘partisan’ mainstream media.

HOWARD KURTZ: When you bash the media, and you have been treated unfairly at times portrayed as somebody who scares little children, but isn’t that in your interest to do that? Your base loves that. They don’t like the mainstream media.

TED CRUZ: There is a reason they don’t like the mainstream media because they are partisan liberal democrats.

KURTZ: Every single journalist?

CRUZ: Almost without exception.

KURTZ: Almost without exception?

CRUZ: Almost without exception they have a partisan agenda. And we understand – let’s take a substantive issue: police officers. If you have one police officer somewhere who does something he shouldn’t have, the press will breathlessly report on this terrible, horrible police officer and all the democratic politicians will jump in and demonize and vilify the cops. Let me ask you something? How come the press doesn’t tell stories of heroism? The great news is we don’t live anymore in a world of three networks that have a stranglehold on information. We have got the internet. We have got the Drudge Report. We have got talk radio. We have got social media. We’ve got the ability to go directly around, and directly to the people.

Donald Trump Goes Full Birther on Ted Cruz

January 6, 2016 by Daniel

Donald Trump and Ted Cruz

Donald Trump has finally decided to play dirty politics and go all in on Ted Cruz and the birther argument.

Early on in his campaign, Trump was all about supporting Cruz and even tried to put a stop to the birther claims.

https://videos.files.wordpress.com/bOIEnRG6/when-trump-said-cruz-was-eligible_dvd.mp4

The Washington Post reports:

Donald Trump said in an interview that rival Ted Cruz’s Canadian birthplace was a “very precarious” issue that could make the senator from Texas vulnerable if he became the Republican presidential nominee.

“Republicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: ‘Do we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?’ That’d be a big problem,” Trump said when asked about the topic. “It’d be a very precarious one for Republicans because he’d be running and the courts may take a long time to make a decision. You don’t want to be running and have that kind of thing over your head.”

This is exactly how Trump plays his cards. When he feels like he’s losing, he tries to play dirty. There’s only one problem. Cruz has a sense of humor about things, and he responds in that same fashion.

Watch the Ted Cruz ‘Christmas Classics’ Parody

December 19, 2015 by Daniel

Cruz Christmas Classics

The Ted Cruz campaign has released a ‘Cruz Christmas Classics’ parody infomercial set to run during the broadcast of Saturday Night Live.

Campaign spokeswoman Catherine Frazier told the Independent Journal:

“In the spirit of the upcoming holiday, we are excited to bring a Cruz family Christmas into the homes of SNL viewers in Iowa. Ted is a long time fan of SNL, so the chance to film his own SNL-style commercial was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up!”

How can you not want to snuggle up and hear these new ‘classics’ this year like “How Obamacare Stole Christmas”, or “The Grinch Who Lost Her Emails”, or even “Frosty the Speaker of the House.”

These ‘Cruz Christmas Classics’ are sure to be a hit!

Jeb Bush Calls Donald Trump Intolerant

September 6, 2015 by Daniel

Donald Trump says Jeb Bush should speak English

Earlier in the week, in referring to Jeb Bush, Donald Trump said, “I like Jeb. He’s a nice man. But he should really set the example by speaking English while in the United States.”

Bush says these comments show a lack of tolerance.

Donald Trump: 3 Core Principles of Real Immigration Reform

August 16, 2015 by Daniel

Donald Trump on Immigration Reform

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump released a paper Sunday detailing what he would do for ‘real immigration reform.’

He says real reform would put “the needs of working people first.” Trump also makes the point to say what most Americans would say, and that is the current system is backwards. He says the system rewards those who are breaking the law. According to Trump, there are ‘three core principles [to] real immigration reform’:

1. A nation without borders is not a nation. There must be a wall across the southern border.

2. A nation without laws is not a nation. Laws passed in accordance with our Constitutional system of government must be enforced.

3. A nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation. Any immigration plan must improve jobs, wages and security for all Americans.

Have Mexico pay to build the wall?

For a while now, Trump has said he would have Mexico pay to build the wall. Yet, he really hasn’t given a clear answer as to how he would try to accomplish this.

We all can agree how crazy it sounds. Make them pay for a wall to keep out the people they’re shipping up here and giving them cheat-sheets on how to stay? Come on. Seriously?

The facts are pretty clear. Once they get here they immediately take advantage of the system. They get ‘free health care’, food stamps, live in section 8 housing, get paid in cash so they don’t pay taxes, and more. The one who bears their burden is the American.

So… what’s Trump’s plan to make them pay for it?

“Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards – of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options].”

Laws?

We are a nation of laws, and Trump lists 8 steps that “will return to the American people the safety of their laws, which politicians have stolen from them”:

  1. Triple the number of ICE officers.
  2. Nationwide e-verify.
  3. Mandatory return of all criminal aliens.
  4. Detention – not cath-and-release.
  5. Defund sanctuary cities.
  6. Enhanced penalties for overstaying a visa.
  7. Cooperate with local gang task forces.
  8. End birthright citizenship.

Start catering to American workers?

Trump says what many households in America are thinking: ‘What about us?’

Our economy flat out stinks right now, and a lot of that falls on companies who continue to focus on bringing in foreign workers. Jobs across all different industries are being held by guest workers, immigrants – newly legal and illegal, and refugees. By allowing so many to flood the job market, we punish the very Americans who politicians ‘help’.

The foreign workers hold “down salaries, keep unemployment high, and make it difficult for poor and working class Americans – including immigrants themselves and their children – to earn a middle class wage.”

Illegal immigration is a real problem. It has been for many, many years. Is it likely that it will be fixed immediately? No. Are there things that can be done now? Sure. Will people like Trump’s plan? Yes. Are there people who will hate it? Yes.

But, like many Americans feel is happening, Trump says: “We will not be taken advantage of anymore.”

Carly Fiorina on Hillary Clinton’s ‘Track Record’

May 27, 2015 by Daniel

Carly Fiorina, Republican presidential candidate went on the attack against Hillary Clinton on “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on MSNBC.

She begins the interview saying:

“I come from a world where titles are just titles, and talk is just talk. It’s only in politics where titles and words mean a lot. In the rest of the world, it’s actually about what have you done, actions speak louder than words. People want to know are your words and your actions consistent and are they consistent over time. And so, I think when 82% of the American people now believe that there is a professional political class more interested in preserving its own power and privilege than it is in serving the American people, people expect basic questions to be asked of anyone running for president. ‘What have you done, are you trustworthy, are you transparent, will you answer questions?'”

When asked about Hillary’s ‘track record’ she replied:

“[As] Secretary of State she took women’s rights and human rights off the table for discussion with China. It’s also true as Secretary of State that she called Bashar al-Assad a positive reformer. It’s also true that in 2011, when she was Secretary of State, she said that Iraq was a free, stable, sovereign nation. And now we have a nation falling apart, Iranian influence growing, ISIS growing. It’s true that she said that she could reset our Russia — our relationship with Russia and Vladimir Putin is on the march. So, I think all of those things I just named go fundamentally to what is her track record.”

Host Andrea Mitchell asked Fiorina about her ISIS strategy, replying:

“I would do very specific things. First, instead of having a Camp David conference to talk our Arab allies into a bad deal with Iran, I would have had a Camp David conference to talk with our Arab allies about how we can support them to fight ISIS. Let me give you very specific examples. The Kurds have been asking us to arm them for three years, we still have not. The Jordanians have been asking us to provide them with bombs and material. We know King Abdullah of Jordan, I’ve known him for many years. He took the appropriate leadership steps when a Jordanian pilot was burned alive. He was here in this country asking us for bombs and materiel, we haven’t provided him with any of them. He’s now looking to China for that. The Egyptian president, a very brave and pious Muslim, who has said there is a cancer in the heart of Islam, has asked us to share intelligence. We are not. The Turks have asked us to help them topple Bashar al-Assad, we are not. There are a whole set of things that we’ve been asked to do by our allies who know this is their fight, and we’re not doing any of them.”

#HillaryClinton2016 – Nobody Wants You Around [PODCAST]

April 14, 2015 by Daniel

[powerpress]

In this episode, I discuss Hillary Clinton jumping into the race for the White House.

hillary clinton

Thomas Jefferson (1785) on ‘Elective Despotism’

“Mankind soon learn to make interested uses of every right and power which they possess, or may assume. The public money and public liberty, intended to have been deposited with three branches of magistracy, but found inadvertently to be in the hands of one only, will soon be discovered to be sources of wealth and dominion to those who hold them… They [the assembly] should look forward to a time, and that not a distant one, when a corruption in this, as in the country from which we derive our origin, will have seized the heads of government, and be spread by them through the body of the people; when they will purchase the voices of the people, and make them pay the price. Human nature is the same on every side of the Atlantic, and will be alike influenced by the same causes. The time to guard against corruption and tyranny, is before they shall have gotten hold of us. It is better to keep the wolf out of the fold, than to trust to drawing his teeth and talons after he shall have entered.”

Meat & Potatoes

She’s BACK! And, Hillary Clinton has officially thrown her name into the hat for 2016. It’s her time. She wants to be a champion. She wants to prove that she understands you and understands your struggles. After all, you’re the middle class and nobody knows the middle class better than a Clinton.

On This Day In History

1743 – Thomas Jefferson was born

1970 – Apollo 13 oxygen tank exploded

Who Said That?

Gwyneth Paltrow has accepted a challenge to live on ‘food stamps’ for a week. Supposedly this equates to $29. But, it doesn’t mean she has to live in poverty for a week. This is such a stupid challenge, and she is too stupid to insult for even playing. Have a look at what she tweeted about the challenge:

This is what $29 gets you at the grocery store—what families on SNAP (i.e. food stamps) have to live on for a week. pic.twitter.com/OZMPA3nxij

Jeb Bush Continues Preparations for 2016 Presidential Run

December 25, 2014 by Daniel

Jeb Bush

There has been a lot of talk about a Jeb Bush 2016 presidential run. And, it seems, that Jeb is preparing to make that run a reality.

Bush seems to be distancing himself from the companies which he sits as a board member.

Newsmax is reporting that he will step down from Tenet Healthcare Corp. effective Dec. 31. Also, that he has taken a leave from his directorship with Barclays.

This is a big step for Bush if he plans on making a run in 2016.

There’s only one BIG problem. Conservatives don’t want him. Along with the majority of America, they want someone that they can relate to.

In the eyes of conservatives, Jeb Bush is a republican establishment elite. How so? Well, even though the majority of the voting base for republicans don’t want Bush, big business and big money donors are ready to line up behind him.

It’s the same problem Mitt Romney ran into during his failed attempt. Everyone lined up to get behind him except those who would actually be voting. Like Romney, Bush is out of touch. People can’t relate to someone who has more money than they know what to do with.

The New York Times reports that not only has he raked in millions from board fees and stock grants to the sum of $3.2 million, he continues to bring in about $50,000 for his speeches.

For conservatives, this is just another reason in a list of why not to get behind Jeb Bush. And who could argue when you compare those paid speech figures with the likes of Hillary Clinton?

Jeb Bush is just a little out of touch with the average American.
