Before the Presidential debate kicks off this Wednesday, all the talk is who will come out on top. The media has all but declared Obama as the winner, while both candidates are downplaying themselves and building up their opponents.
The topic will be on domestic policy. Who is favored? No one really knows for sure. What is Obama expected to say? Probably more of the same from the last four years. Romney? It’s still unclear.
So, who has the most to gain and who has the most to lose? Romney. He has to come out swinging and hitting Obama on facts and stats without letting Obama dance around with rhetoric. Romney has to take a bold and clear stance in order to make a strong case for his path to domestic prosperity.
Romney also has the most to lose. If he has a less than stellar evening, it will more than likely be the final nail in the coffin. With recent polls showing him behind Obama, he must have a better than excellent night. Some say Romney is beginning to pick up support from Independents, however some numbers show a different story.
All of this is speculation, or in another term: Politics. Nobody is able to fully predict what the outcome will be, but many assumptions point to Romney coming out on top. And, if that is the case, it could give him a small bump in the polls. Not enough to overtake Obama’s small lead, but enough of a bump in momentum to carry him into another night of debating a week later.
Only time will tell.
