“There is a rank due to the United States, among nations, which will be withheld, if not absolutely lost, by the reputation of weakness. If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be known that we are at all times ready for war.” – George Washington

Proverbs 16:32 – He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty.

On this day in history:

In 1864 during the American Civil War, the Battle of Franklin was fought which later proved to be one of the worst disasters for the Confederate Army.

  1. Yes, be ready for war, but how about congress taking a stand & declaring a war instead of sending our children to foreign countries to die without a declaration of war. I mean, 10 years now in a Middle East war it asking too much.

Might mention a new book out that’s a thriller & about Americans taking a stand for saving America. It’s about each of us & I liked it cause it’s about defending our freedoms.

I would rather see our young soldiers on the Mexican bord defending us if we need to be prepared for war. As a VietNam veteran I know what war is about.

  2. First off WhiteSnow, let me thank you for your service! As a fellow member of the armed services, I understand.

Second, I agree that we have been there far too long. As a matter of fact, we might have served the world better if we hadn’t deployed there in the first place. We will be there far past 2014. And for what? What was the mission for going anyway? Questions that may never be answered. But, it is a blemish on our record that can’t be erased.

Third, thanks for stopping by. Hope to hear from you again!
